Text-to-Speech by Voicicon leverages Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Poly, and IBM Watson's technologies. Advanced deep learning technologies are used to synthesize natural-sounding human voices.
The standard voice sounds robotic, but it is very affordable. However, the neural voice sounds more like a person but is slightly more expensive.
Thanks to a new machine-learning approach, the Neural Text to Speech (NTTS) voices deliver superior speech quality.
They also support two speaking styles, which better match your speaker's delivery style to the application: A Newscaster reading style tailored for news narration use cases. This conversational style is perfect for two-way communication such as telephony applications.
Sign up and create your Voicicon account, navigate to Text-To-Speech console, select your language and available voices, type in any text in the input text box, listen to the generated speech, or save it as an audio file. You will automatically get 2000 free character conversions every month.
Voicicon uses Google Cloud, Microsoft Azur, IBM Watson, and Amazon Poly; all HIPAA Eligible Services covered under the Business Associate Addendum (Google Claud, Microsoft Azure, IBM Watson, and AWS BAA).
Suppose you have a BAA with either of these services. In that case, Voicicon will use, disclose, and maintain your Protected Health Information (PHI) only as permitted by the terms of your Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, IBM Watson, or AWS BAA, and not as specified in the Data Privacy section of the Voicicon FAQ.
With the Voicicon cloud platform, you can stream audio to your users in near real-time. In addition, you can also choose from various sampling rates to optimize bandwidth and audio quality for your application. Currently, Voicicon supports MP3 audio stream format.
Currently, Voicicon supports more than 80 languages and over 660 voices and dialects.
Downloadable software, as well as text-to-speech applications, require significant computing resources. It can increase development costs and power consumption for devices like smartphones and tablets.
Contrary to this, text-to-speech conversion done in the cloud drastically reduces the local resource requirements. It supports all available languages and voices at the highest quality. Speech corrections and enhancements can be made instantly and are not dependent on any device's updates. Cloud-based text-to-speech (TTS), which is platform-independent, reduces development time and effort.
Voicicon is integrated with Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Amazon, and IBM and leverages these technologies for optimum performance. The main features are:
- Control various aspects of speech such as pronunciation, volume, pitch, speech rate, etc., using standardized Speech Synthesis Markup Language (SSML). Synthesizes speech for certain Neural voices using the Newscaster style to make them sound like a TV or radio newscaster.
- It detects specific words or sentences in the text that speak to the user based on the metadata included in the audio stream.
-
Custom Development:
Synchronizing graphical highlighting and animations, such as the lip movements of an avatar, with the synthesized speech. - Modifying the pronunciation of particular words, such as company names, acronyms, foreign words, and neologisms, e.g. “P!nk”, “ROTFL”, “C’est la vie” (when spoken in a non-French voice) using custom lexicons.

You can use voiceovers created by Voicicon for commercial purposes with the paid subscription plan.
Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and IBM all grant ownership to sound recording copyrights to users of the application as long as they pay for the conversion. The text must be your original text, created by you, or used legally by the user. The term "My original text" refers to the text you created. It means you own the copyright to the text and can only authorize a derivative work (such as a synthesized recording).
You also own the copyright to the recordings. However, that right must be governed by the fact that you "created" it, which means you have some creativity.
You have the option to cancel your subscription at any moment. However, you can still use your plan until the end of your billing period. Keep in mind that you will be transferred to a free program once your paid plan is expired. All premium plan features will no longer be available

Text-To-Speech
It is safe to say that the best online text-to-speech software is from giants like Google, Amazon, IBM, and Microsoft, with billions of research dollars in their pocket. However, these platforms are not designed with the end-users in mind. Instead, they are meant to be used by B2B businesses.
To convert text to voice, users must first create accounts on each platform and then update and configure many settings, including programming code.
We have done all the hard work at Voicicon to facilitate users to quickly access the most realistic voices available from the most trusted providers.
To make sure your message is heard and not wasted, you need to ask these questions regularly. Then, it would be best if you asked these questions often:
- Who am I speaking with? A forty-year-old mother-of-three will speak differently to you than to a six-year-old boy.
- What information will I need to convey?
- Is my message being heard or seen by them?
- What kind of reaction should I expect?
- We don't think of a voice as good or bad. We only care if the sound of the voice fits well in a specific situation. If the voice sounds pleasant and prosperous but doesn't fit appropriately within the context, then it will destroy the message.
- On the other hand, unpleasing voices, or even ones that are not appropriate for the situation, might be remembered by your customers and help you achieve great success.
Although it is possible to substitute a professional actor for voiceovers of complex dialogue or emotional text, it is still impossible to replace an actor who has created the voiceover. In this situation, the actor does more than just read the text. He makes a character, an impression. If you have a demanding dramatic task and enough money, a professional actor may be better than a computer's voice.
Today, however, many businesses are using synthesized voice to convert text to spoken speech. As a result, the fear of using computer voices to convert text to speech is slowly disappearing. It allows for the possibility to obtain high-quality voiceovers fast and inexpensively.
Computer voices have become more realistic, and there is an increasing number of them. For example, you may find robot voices, such as the Stephen Hawking voice, among synthesized sounds.
You can now select the narrator's voice, not just the type but also the accent or intonation. Computer voices look so natural and realistic that people often forget they exist in YouTube and Tik Tok videos.
Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and IBM grant sound recording copyrights per their standard terms.
It means that, in addition to the copyright to text, you also own copyrights to recordings. That right must be governed by the fact that you 'Created' it, which means that you can demonstrate a minimum of creativity.
Voicicon allows you to use audio for commercial purposes, provided that it is part of a paid plan.
Do you have questions about how to choose an accent that best suits your message? Here are three suggestions to help get you started.
- Define who your audience is: Where do they live in the country? What language does your audience speak?
- Learn which accent is most used in everyday life. It may also be used to communicate business information (it can be just one accent, but it can also be multiple accents).
- Decide if you want the message to sound formal or informal.
Experiments prove that we can tell an artificial voice apart if it speaks for over one minute. The reason is that every voice sounds the same. One speed, timbre, tonality. That is how actors behave. He will make changes in intonation speed and pitch. There will also be pauses of different lengths. These effects are what make voice acting seem real.
It's not easy to predict who will be the first to create a synthesized sounding voice. However, one thing is certain. It will be impossible to know if someone is talking to you on the telephone in the next few decades - a natural person speaking to you or a computer. Therefore, voice effects are primarily used to achieve the realistic appearance of voices.
Consider the following:
- The number of languages and realistic voices that the service offers;
- The ability for special effects to be applied;
- The conversion cost; and
- Whether you can download and/or share converted audio files.
